Here We Go!

It all started with a radio commercial while Jesse and I were sitting in a McDonald’s parking lot, drinking coffee on a cold January day. About two weeks prior we were out for a drive and happened to stop at an rv dealership to check out the motorhomes on the lot. It was freezing, so we didn’t stay long. We drove home discussing how fun it would be to have a motorhome, me reminiscing about a trip my family took in a rented Class A when I was ten. That trip is my favorite vacation from my childhood. The thought of having a house on wheels was just the coolest thing ever. Driving from state to state, playing games in the back, campfires. Ah… it was amazing. Anyhow, we started watching videos on YouTube about RVs and stumbled upon this family who sold everything and went full time in an RV. What? That’s crazy…but awesome! We binge watched so many episodes, learning all kinds of neat (and not so neat) things about RV life. We were hooked! So when we heard the commercial that there was a huge RV show going on in St. Cloud, it was fate. I’ll spare you the details of the show, but I will say that once we stepped into a Class A, there was no turning back. A few days later, we signed the paperwork and drove that big beast home. We named her Ripley. Yes, after Ellen Ripley in Alien, because she is bigger than life, beautiful and bad ass. Why buy a motorhome, you ask? That’s a great question. See, Jesse and I were on the verge of becoming empty nesters. After raising four daughters for almost three decades, we wanted something just for us. We love road trips, and thought this would be a great way for us to enjoy those trips and spend more quality time together traveling and exploring this great country. It has been such a fun experience so far and we look forward to each and every trip, and sharing our adventures with you! Here’s to living life to the fullest!
